Zinc bacitracin 675.5 mg

Neomycin 500 mg

Zinc oxide 15 g

Excipients q.s. to 100 g

PROPERTIES:

Neomycin: Aminoglycoside antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit.

Zinc oxide: Astringent, drying, and soothing agent that reduces local irritation and inflammation by decreasing mucosal and other secretions. Acts as a natural antioxidant, supports vitamin A absorption, and promotes collagen synthesis and epidermal keratinization.

Zinc bacitracin: Polypeptide antibiotic effective in the treatment and prevention of bacterial skin infections. Interferes with bacterial cell wall synthesis by inhibiting dephosphorylation of isoprenyl C55-phosphate.

Treatment of external infections following trauma or surgery, eczema, and pyoderma caused by Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Corynebacterium spp., and Proteus spp.

USES:

Indicated for the treatment of all types of wounds (traumatic, infectious, or surgical), burns, abrasions, eczema, and pyoderma (purulent dermatitis).

Used daily for umbilical disinfection in newborns, treatment of udder wounds and teat cracks, slow-healing wounds (ulcers), and saddle or harness-related lacerations in horses.

May be used for myiasis (screwworm) control when mixed with topical insecticides containing coumaphos, metrifonate, or dichlorvos.

DOSAGE AND ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION:

Apply 2 to 5 times daily in sufficient quantity to completely cover the wound until full closure and healing.
